Dua Lipa is a Brit musician and singer who was who was born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd, 1995. In 2014, following a career as a model and actress, she signed with Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album climbed to the top spot at No. three on the U.K. Charts. There were eight songs released such as Be the First I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules. In the United States it peaked as the 6th most popular album. Lipa received the Brit Award in 2018 as British Female Soloist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. Her album is certified platinum in a number of countries. Dua Lipa, born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London, was born on August 22, 1995. Through her maternal grandmother, she is of Bosnian ancestry. Her ancestors are also identified back to the Kosovo town of Peja. The Lipa's grandparents are historians. They have a brother Gjin Lipa and a sister Rina. Lipa was taught to play guitar and sing from her father Oda. He is the leader singer/guitarist for Kosovan's band Oda. His father would play music in the family, which included songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was five. At the age of nine she began to learn how to sing. Lipa covered Beautiful by Christina Aguilera and If I Ain't got You from Alicia Keys on YouTube. Lipa signed her first record agreement in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. Her debut single New Love was released in August 2015.
