Beth Hart is a Los Angeles native and blues-singing rock singer. She was a street performer and began her career with Immortal in the year 1995. Her outspoken, raw personality, musicianship and emotion-filled live performances have attracted the attention of fans. Chuck Taylor wrote that Hart was "the embodiment of natural women" in the October 2, 1999 issue of Billboard magazine. She is "bawdy hilarious, amusing, friendly and a free-wheeler with her preference to use a spicy the language. But that's white bread contrasted with her onstage presence as the tall, graceful singer/songwriter walks around and blasts through songs with the intensity of Mick Jagger .... At times, she's taken her place at the piano or on the center stage, where she sits without a hint of pretense, with her legs crossed over the edges of the chair, singing a tune that's so delicate and hurt, you wonder what she's going through and if you will. Hart was subject to similar reactions from the time she first took to the stage for amateur contests as an teen. But Hart was skeptical about the business of music when it finally became an instant success. Hart ended her performance after it was unsuccessful touring the world. Hart then spent nearly four years pondering and solving problems through music writing. Hart was ready to give her professional life another chance, and came back in 1999, releasing Screamin' for My Supper. The album that showed Hart's songwriting skills, and featured the vulnerability and honesty of songs that dealt with the challenges of life.
